Welcome to CTAD website!

This new e-learning CD-ROM was commissioned by the Birmingham Core Skills Development Partnership and developed by the University of Wolverhampton School of Education and the Language Development Network to support delivery of the Level 4 subject specialist qualifications for adult literacy teachers. However, it is also useful for those working on Level 3 generic teacher education.

You should use Exploring Grammar and Developing Reading Skills as part of a blended approach in conjunction with an established course of study. The resource allows you to focus on areas you think you need to develop or refresh.

It provides:

• underpinning knowledge for the Level 4 literacy specifications
• information about teaching strategies that foster the development of reading and writing (language) skills.
