DSS1 code –102

Solution
Install the network drivers on your server. If you are running a standalone version on Windows NT, run the network driver from that machine.

Network installation instructions
Before installing ELLIS, Please consult CALI, and the minimum network requirements found in this document.

Server install

  1. From a workstation attached to the network (not from the server) insert the ELLIS Installation & Management CD into your CD-ROM drive, and run the file SETUP.EXE. (Click Start, Run, then type D:\setup.exe where D: is your CD-ROM drive)
  2. Read and accept the license agreement.
  3. Select the location where you want ELLIS to be installed by clicking on the BROWSE button. This must be a permanently mapped network drive. When ready, click NEXT to continue.
  4. Follow the prompts to insert each CD and install the program
  5. Install the Network Driver: Follow the appropriate steps below for the kind of network you are using. Perform
    the steps from the network file server. These steps require a network administrator who knows passwords and where files should be installed.

Windows NT file server or standalone workstation

  1. From the CK4NTNEW directory of the Installation and Management CD, copy SETUP.EXE and CKS.EXE to Y:\ELLIS\INTRO\PROGRAM (where Y: is the location where you installed ELLIS on the file server.
  2. Repeat the proceding step for Middle Mastery (Y:\ELLIS\MIDDLE\PROGRAM), Senior Mastery, (Y:\ELLIS\SENIOR\PROGRAM), and Master Pronunciation (Y:\ELLIS\MP\PROGRAM)
  3. Run SETUP.EXE from each of the program directories
  4. Reboot the NT file server

Note: 
Y:\ must be the physical (not virtual) path on the server. For example, the virtual path according to the workstation may be Y:\ELLIS\INTRO\PROGRAM, but the physical path on the server may be Y:\APPS\ELLIS\INTRO\PROGRAM.
