Target Skills: Additional materials – Numeracy is part of the popular Target Skills suite of resources. This suite provides an ICT-based initial assessment, a series of ICT learning materials, and a web-based management and tracking system for those delivering the national curricula in adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL. The CD-ROMs are available as a pack or individually.

Target Skills: Additional materials – Numeracy contains new paper-based materials, at Entry 3 and Level 1, designed to supplement the existing numeracy products in the Target Skills suite.

Each learning activity covers a particular curriculum area, at either Entry 3 or Level 1, and helps learners to approach the National Tests with increased confidence and skills.

Who’s it for?

Target Skills: Additional materials – Numeracy supports learners and their tutors in a wide variety of adult education contexts, such as FE colleges, community and family programmes, training organisations, the workplace, and prisons.

The levels in the adult literacy and numeracy national standards correspond to the levels in the national qualifications framework, and so the standards are broadly equivalent to levels in the national curriculum for schools. So Target Skills: Additional materials – Numeracy is also suitable for use in schools and sixth-form colleges at Key Stage 4 and beyond.

Each individual learning activity includes:

• an introduction page for learners detailing the learning aims
• learning material and practice exercises and
• ‘Check your skills’ questions in a format similar to the National Tests.
