Safety at Work

Available from September 2007.

This new development is for use primarily with adults who are preparing for work or who are already in work but aren’t yet confident readers. This includes adults with learning difficulties, ESOL learners and basic literacy learners at Entry level.

The pack, produced in conjunction with Portland College, is aimed at trainers, tutors, support workers and supported employment staff, and may be used to introduce key health and safety topics in both one-to-one and group contexts.

The multimedia resources are delivered in a useful backpack. They include the CD-ROM, which contains videos, interactive animations and quizzes, and an extensive Resource guide, providing templates, extended activities, worksheets, flash cards and 'next step' activities.

We are also exploring how PDAs and other assistive technology can be used to support learners in the workplace and to capture and demonstrate skills and understanding.

Tribal CTAD has developed this product as a partner in TATE (Through Assistive Technology to Employment), an ESF Equal project led by HFT (Home Farm Trust).
