The Alliance for Lifelong Learning*, a partnership between NIACE and Tribal, is pleased to announce that, as a result of a recent competitive tendering process, it has been awarded the contract to manage The Early Years Family Literacy, Language and Numeracy and Nurturing a Love of Reading project on behalf of the QIA.
The project, led by Tribal and worth £1m, has two distinct strands of work. The first is to develop and pilot models for the delivery of family literacy, language and numeracy (FLLN) for parents of children aged 0-4, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the second is to produce parent information packs to support the distribution of free books to all children, aged 5 and 11 years, starting primary and secondary school in September 2007. The project will run between August 2007 - March 2008.
Sarah Blackmore, Tribal CTAD's Director of Consultancy and Development, said: "This is a really exciting piece of work for us. It is the first major win for the Alliance and we are looking forward to working collaboratively with colleagues in NIACE to deliver two significant strands of work. Tribal has supported a growing government commitment to FLLN in Early Years through various delivery projects and consultancy work and we are delighted to be able to take forward these developments through this new contact".
