Whole Organisation Approach

Whole Organisation Approach website Tribal CTAD is working with the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA) and The Experience Corps in the Whole Organisation Approach to Skills for Life project, led by KPMG.

Our work has 2 strands:

  • resources support and development
  • trialling and developing the use of the Skills for Life Framework

Resources development and support

We are responsible for providing learning resources support to the pathfinder organisations involved in the project through identifying good practice and writing guidance materials to support the organisations in identifying key resources available for delivering a Whole Organisation Approach to Skills for Life (including curriculum framework and design).

The 36 pathfinders are drawn from a variety of settings including:

  • mainstream and specialist colleges
  • the prison services
  • schools
  • voluntary and community organisations
  • work-based learning providers
  • the health service.

LSDA are working closely with the pathfinders to develop staff skills and The Experience Corps are advising and working with pathfinders from the voluntary and community sector.
Tribal CTAD is:

  • researching and evaluating learning materials and identifying good practice in highly rated providers
  • producing a report specific to each participating pathfinder with respect to best practice and materials available for delivering Skills for Life generally
  • producing  a targetted Resources guide to support  pathfinders to identify key Skills for Life reources
  • compiling and producing  materials menus for selected curriculum areas as a staff reference resource

Trialling and developing the Skills for Life framework

  • working with Liverpool, Community College to develop and trail the use of  the framework
  • working with a range of pathfinder organisations to trial the use of the framework and to identify ways in which it can support planning, quality improvement and staff development
  • Working with pathfinders to adapt the framework to suite their needs.
  • Work so far has taken palce with further education colleges, a prison, a national training provider and the WEA.
